Another One Bites The Dust…

16 Jun

Weekly weigh in and reflection time…

I am down a whopping 3.5 pounds this week and they ain’t ever coming back!  To put this seemingly small progress into perspective.  This is what 1 pound of fat looks like and I lost 3.5 of these blobs!

1.5 pounds away from a total loss of the big mamma jamma below

That is huge to me.  I am glad the web is saturated with this images.  It really makes every single pound lost significant in a way it never was before.  So I bid adieu to the 3 and half fat blobs gone and forgotten.  On to the new week!

I came home with 2 great finds from Trader Joes’s today.  Their store brand fresh salsa only has 45 grams of sodium per serving compared to 75 in the lowest sodium salsa I could find at Kroger.  I can have these protein crips in place of my protein bar if I want and they are perfect with this salsa.

The other great find was a Fat Free ginger sesame soy vinaigrette.  It does not even touch the sodium in soy sauce and will help me quench my asian cusine cravings.  It was fantastic on a broccoli slaw I found at TJ’s.

It has been quite a challenge to find low to no sodium seasoning since being on this diet.  I know all herbs are salt free and seasoning blends are just various herbs mixed with lots and lots and lots of salt.  I have done a pretty decent job of creating some tasty blends, but it gets exhausting guessing and experimenting every night and Mrs. Dash gets old after a few days.

At the urging of my lemon pepper loving cohort, Jaimelee, I checked out Penzeys Spices.  I came home with 5 new blends that I can’t wait to doctor my veggies up with this week.  They had an amazing selection of salt free blends, and even had a SALT FREE LEMON PEPPER! Be still my puckering peppery heart!  If you are not lucky enough to have a store in your area, you can order online.  I linked it above.

My goal this week is to get in 5 days of exercise this week up from my 3 last week.  Stick with diet exactly how I am doing.  It is working!

Please feel free to share your progress this week and any goals you have for the upcoming week along with comments and suggestions for me.  I love hearing from you all!

Pardon my language, but FUCK YEAH! You probably already know that at some point what you are doing is going to stop working. Not that you will gain, but you may stop losing. That’s where I am right now. You just have to switch it up. Keep up the hard work. You’re doing great!
