Who would have thunk it?

1 Jul

A pretty awesome something happened to me this weekend, besides reaching my first weight loss goal.

secove over at Strong-Fit-Beautiful nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! I am honored and thrilled to be considered inspiring. So many people in my life and throughout the web inspire me and motivate me daily, it is a blessing to be able to be that to others.

What that means is I have to:

  1. Display the award logo somewhere on the blog.
  2. Link back to the blog of the person who nominated you.
  3. State 7 things about yourself.
  4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award and provide links to their blogs.
  5. Notify those bloggers that they have been nominated and of the award’s requirements.

7 Random Things About Me:

  1. I am a 31 year old wife (9 years) and mother (10 months). I am originally from Arkansas and currently live in the Kentuckiana (Kentucky/Indiana) metro area.
  2. I have scars on my knees from an unfortunate treadmill accident when I was in the 8th grade. I was exercising while watching Golden Girls. Rose had a blind friend (Flo “Kiss My Grits” from Alice). The blind friend was doing what looked like applying makeup when Rose walked in to the room. I started thinking hmmm how would you put makeup on blind. I proceeded to close my eyes and mimic applying makeup…while walking on the treadmill. I of course lost my balance and fell on the moving treadmill. Which effectively ripped the skin off of my knees. I did not prove you could not apply make up blind, but I did prove it is dangerous to walk on a treadmill blind. Not one of my brightest moments.
  3. El Caminos…I hate them with every fiber in my being. They irrationally anger me just the sight of them. I want to drive them all off a cliff and set the pile on fire…yes I know this makes me crazy. I have no explanation for this immense hatred.
  4. Numbers have gender to me. As in 1 is male, 2 is male, 3 is female, 4 is male, 5 is female, 6 is female, 7 is male, 8 is female, 9 is female, 10 is male…and the list goes on. They have always had gender in my mind for as long as I can remember. Weird…I know.
  5. Mopeds and people too big for them make me laugh. Especially people who wobble on them like they might fall. It is mean and absurd, but I could watch a TV show that was solely people almost wrecking mopeds and I would laugh non-stop.
  6. I love Saturday Night Live. I love it so much that I love it even when it sucks, and I am honest to admit it often does. However, when it is great, there is nothing better. My love goes all the way back to the first season. I love them all! My fave cast includes Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, David Spade, and Rob Schneider. I of course have classic faves like Will Farrell and Kristen Wiig, but to me nothing beats the era of Farley/Spade/Sandler/Schneider.
  7. I am a nail bitter. I have good moments and bad. I just can’t seem to kick it and at this point, don’t really care if I ever do. I grow them out when I really work at it, otherwise, I keep them bit off. Disgusting, but I honestly do it most of the time without even noticing until I have done it.
