Planks A Lot

4 Dec

Okay you people are AMAZING!  I cannot begin to tell you how awesome the response to the FatChicktoFitChick #MerryPlanksmas challenge has been!

I am seeing pictures of planks, kiddo planks, planks in bathrooms, planks in offices, and times ranging from 9 seconds to over 3 minutes.  We are seeing participants all the way from “My first ever plank” to “I do planks everyday”.  This is what I love about this challenge.  You are meant to challenge yourself to beat yourself.   Max out your time  each day and encourage each other as we all maneuver through one of the busiest months of the year!  It is that simple…yeah I know that the term simple does not belong in a sentence referencing a plank!

Here are some pics from around the web and Instagram:  (Most of these are fellow bloggers, so click the pictures to visit their sites and show them some love!)

This is one of the coolest pics I have ever seen! Merritt Athletic Clubs showing some #merryplanksmas love!

Here is me and the hubs getting our plank on:

Last night I finally tackled my kettlebell workout in addition to all this plank maddness I started.  I also made the decision to no longer use my 15lb kettlebell.  I have been using that bad boy as a crutch on my one armed rows mostly, but I always have it near when the 25lb bad boy starts making it really hard.  My BFF is wanting to explore kettlebells, and I told her to borrow my 15.  This was the perfect time to cut the cord and push myself.  I managed 2 of my 3 rounds after my plank.  Tonight I go for all 3 rounds…wish me luck. I am already hurting just thinking about it.

That brings me to my workout/kettlebell FAQ I promised a while back.  I am working on this for a post this week.  Be sure to get in any questions you have about kettlebells and my workout.  (What’s a tabata?  What timer do I use?  Do I get enough cardio with my workout?, etc)

I am by no means a kettlebell expert, but I have learned a lot over the last six months, and I would love to try to answer any questions you have for me!
