The Loch Ness Monster and Big Foot Walk Into A Gym…

Happy Monday everyone!  No I am not exited it is Monday, but that cursed day comes every week, whether I like it or not.  So, I might as well put on my Happy Monday face, and fake that business until I make that business.

I started out my weekend with my good old weigh in.  I was down 2.4 lbs making my current weight 245 lbs!  I was stoked and as much as I preach to not let the scales rule your world, a loss does set a happy tone for my weekend.

I was going to bust out a workout during Tink’s nap, but a nap for mama won that battle.  I ended up doing my weekly meal prep Saturday night instead of Sunday because we had long over do plans to cook it up Paleo style and hang with some dear dear friends of ours on Sunday afternoon/night.  I did not want to risk not getting my prepping done and flying by the seat of my pants.  That is a recipe for disaster…I have proven this time and time again.  I have to be rigid or I make bad choices.

I did manage a dance battle with myself when Tink went to bed later that night.  I am going to go on the record as saying that  Pump Up The Jam on Dance Central is HARD.  It was super fun, but was the most challenging dance so far.  In case you have not noticed, I am partial the to 1980’s and 1990’s jams on this game.  It takes me back to jr high and high school dances/parties, and I just want to shake it.

Sunday was a bit of a blur.  We had a blast with our friends and their kiddos, and we had an amazing dinner.  We had beef roast, sweet potato hash, firecracker cabbage, and roasted eggplant.  Everything was delicious!  I will say my favorite part of the meal was the roast.  My girl Crossfit Mom can cook a mean roast.  This was the kind of roast, that if left alone with, I would devour standing over the cast iron dutch oven.  Amazing!  We had a great visit and got to laugh hysterically at our kiddos.  Despite Crossfit Mom thinking her Firecracker was divalicious, I thought her kids Geeps and Firecracker were awesome per the usual!

On a sidenote, Crossfit Mom had an awesome idea for a fitness project for us to collaborate on, and use to motivate each other with.  More on that in the near future, but it is going to be awesome!

I had every intention of working out when we got home, but this chick has been so exhausted this weekend.  It has been a weekend of early bedtimes out of necessity.  I only managed a wall sit before bedtime to keep the chain unbroken.  (27 days ya’ll!)

I am going to have to find the energy to keep busting out, because I saw something, and better yet the hubs saw something for the first time this weekend…arm definition.  This topic has become a bit of running joke/sore spot between us.  I have for sometime noticed changes in how my muscles feel, how can see them popping out from the fat and loose skin, but my husband has not been as keen on these changes when it comes to my arms.  Don’t get me wrong, he is extremely complimentary about my ever changing body.  However, when it comes to me showing off the guns, he usually replies with “yeah maybe a little” when asked if he can see my bulging muscles.  This usually infuriates me because if I am asking, it is because to me I am looking cut in that moment.  I mean I don’t have grand delusions of being ripped, but if I ask, it is because I can see it and it looks amazing!

This weekend, the unthinkable happened.  I was blow drying my hair and I saw it.  Like majorly saw it.  Arm definition.  Per the usual, I held my arm in place as to not disturb the muscle.  Because I fear I will not get it too look this way if I move my arm and try to recreate the flex.  You see my muscle definition has been as allusive as The Loch Ness Monster and Big Foot.  Now you see it…now you don’t.  He came into the bathroom and used that word I so crave to hear…definition.  He saw it and I could not stop staring at it.  So guess what?  I am now even more addicted.  I am seeing the fat melt away and underneath are beautiful muscles.  I will find the energy to attack my workouts this week, because I am on a quest to permanently capture Nessie and Sasquatch (which are now the official names of my guns).

Okay, I hate rambling posts, but alas this has been on big dump of information. Hopefully you can make sense of this.

    I’m on a “Fake It Til’ You Make it Monday” also! Let’s do this! Congrats on the weigh in, you’re doing awesome. I’m making it a point to stretch every night before bed this week, I’m so bad about getting my “stretch armstrong” on! G’Luck with Monday!

    Congrats on the loss girl!!! That’s awesome!! I can’t wait for that Spaghetti Squash reciepe- looks AWESOME! Random question- I aksed you about almond butter on IG last week and I couldn’t for the life of me find the picture where we were talking about it- what’s the best brand of Almond butter? I was at the store trying to buy adn couldn’t remember! Hope your Monday turns around!

      Thanks chick! MaraNatha is by far the best. It has a tiny bit of sugar (3g per serving). Do yourself a favor and get no stir kind. It is the best!

    That’s hilarious!! I’m the exact same way!! I whip out my guns for the hubs any chance I can get, and he looks at me like I’ve just smoked crack!! Well, at least I can see em, right?? Another thing I LOVE to see, is the first starting peak at my collar bone! It used to be there, I know it’s been hiding awhile, but if I stand a certain way it says hello. Still very very shy, but I’ll get it out there!! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!! However, I did just text the hubs to bring me home some candy! Dang it!
