Not So Fat Tuesday

I wear my polar watch on my tank top when I do kettlebell workouts. It gets in my way on my wrist, and I am terrified of jacking it up with the kettlebell.

All in all Fat Tuesday was not so much a fatso day, and was more of normal old day for me.  We had a potluck at work.  I don’t know about your place of work, but at mine desserts top the list of things people want to bring.  There were like two main dishes, some side/appetizer type foods and a crazy array of sweets.

I brought some creole cauli-rice and it was a hit!  Many people thought it was couscous and had no idea it was cauliflower.  I ate some of that, a small helping of low fat chicken jambalaya and white chicken chili.  I totally bypassed the sweets even though they were calling my name.  That inner fat heifer in me kept thinking of all the desserts on the table.  I had to go into the break room to get my afternoon snack and thank the sweet baby Jesus that there were people in the break room, which helped me to stay strong and avoid an embarrassing secret swipe of a cookie.

Speaking of my snack…it was amazing on a level that just is not quantifiable.  8 cucumber slices, 2 tbsp of non fat plain Greek yogurt with ranch seasoning added, and 2 thin slices of deli ham.      39 calories of refreshing deliciousness…

I did long for a sweet treat all night long, but the best antidote to craving crap is breaking a sweat!  Tuesdays equal Pretty Little Liars for me.  I love shows with teenage drama, mystery and psychopaths with unlimited text plans.  I have been doing variations of some arm workouts on Tuesday nights.  It is something I can get done while my PLL plays on in the background.  I am a little addicted to feeling the muscles in my arms get all pumped up…shoulders especially!  Here is what I did tonight:

I am in love with this workout.  I just added in the squats to keep my heart rate up while I take a little breather on my arms.

    that snack looks really good – you’re so creative! Is it bad that I didnt even know it was Fat Tuesday, and I had to find out on Facebook? lol. I live outside of DC so its not really celebrated around here, well at least not among my family/friends.

      I would not have known had work not celebrated it. Not sure how Kentucky gets involved, but we apparently do!

    That is such a good snack idea. Plain cucumbers just doesn’t cut it for me.

    Those snacks seriously look yum. I’m going to have to write that one down. I totally had a fat Tuesday, so I’m super proud of you for sticking to it!
